Summer cleaning?

I am not quite sure why I am actually writing a journal entry today. I don't really have anything to say at the moment except I picked up my camera last week for the first time since last August. Isn't it amazing how you can loose yourself for a few months because you become uncomfortable with yourself. Anyways so I posted a few new pictures from a shoot in an abandoned jail in Newark, NJ.

RIP Matthew Shepard - 10 yrs later

Today 10 years ago Matthew Shepard passed away at 12:53 am.

"Matthew Wayne Shepard (December 1, 1976 – October 12, 1998) was a gay American student at the University of Wyoming who was murdered near Laramie on the night of October 6–October 7, 1998. Shepard died at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, on October 12, 1998, from severe head injuries. His murder brought national as well as international attention to the issue of hate crime legislation at the state and federal levels.[1]
Russell Arthur Henderson pleaded guilty to felony murder and kidnapping, allowing him to avoid the death penalty. Aaron James McKinney was convicted of felony murder and kidnapping. Henderson is currently serving two consecutive life sentences and McKinney is serving the same but without the possibility of parole.[2]"

I had visited Laramie, WY in August during my road trip to the fence that he was tied to. How completely strange this place was to me. Something so tragic happened in this beautiful and sunny environment. I couldn't figure out my emotions or how i was actually supposed to feel while I was there. I don't know him and never will but he was a handsome boy with a life that was cut short. Please take some time to reflect on the violent nature we all possess and decide on how you wish to live.

Leaving Jersey incomplete

Mon Sep 15, 2008, 10:41 PM
Let's take a trip together and explore the world.

On August 17th 2008 I embarked along with three friends on a journey that would change our lives (dramatic - I KNOW!). Starting off in Northern Jersey we headed towards Toledo, OH to see the hometown of my best friend's father. We made our home with Sanddolla, a woman with more oxygen tanks than i have ever seen. After that off to Chicago - expensive but worth all the laughs and art. It will def be a place to visit again with more money CHA CHING $$...
Nebraska for the camping...

Then ahAHHHH breath of fresh air - COLORADO. The golden place. The place I have been saying I wanted to move to for years. Finally, there we were! Winter Park <3 <3 you stole my heart. then to Elizabeth to have some good fun with the horses and to see amazing storms.

Wy for mixed emotions... Utah for the Spiral Jetty <3 and some life revelations... Zion for hiking. Vegas for the hookers and to get pulled over and offered jobs in the casinos (i know a car of 4 girls from Jersey is ideal for a good time)... Cali for the beaches and the sunsets (my first time in the pacific ocean)... AZ for Flagstaff <3 <3 and the grand canyon (tourists tourists and hella confusing)... NM for chaco canyon (fcking amazing! could die happy now)... 29 FUCKING hours of driving to Tenn for Elvis? FUCK THE HURRICANES! all i really wwanted to do was get to NOLA (look it up if you don't know where the fck that is)... then to Savannah ( a little piece of heaven and spoiled me rotten with smoking in the bars)... Carrboro, NC final stop ( dance dance dance and artsy isn't even close to what it was) then a quick drive past Phillip Morris in VA then to DC for a drive by passing of the pentagon then back to JERSEY!

<3 that's the short version.

I am posting photos of some of the fun things we saw. enjoy
